LIONEL DURRE is one of our latest customers to shift up to our KEITH BLACK Race HEMI® engine block. Lionel runs his own business Engine Improvements out of the beautiful coastal town of Yeppoon in Central Queensland Australia.
Lionel’s business specializes in engine builds, performance improvements, and generally in building bad-ass cars for those people just crazy enough to want insane levels of horsepower. When he first purchased his ‘68 Barracuda around two years ago it was in his words “a Grandpa spec 318 car”.
Not so much a grandpa spec car now after Lionel created it's new alter-ego.

Lionel’s shooting to keep this as his as daily driver as well as his race car – albeit running low 7’s @ 190+ mph (the type of crazy we like). Lionel we love what you’re doing with your car and look forward to seeing more of your hard work pay off with your totally awesome ‘68.
CLINT BRUNNER explains he is still dialling-in his setup on the Dart and has yet to make an optimum pass with the car – “it is certainly nowhere near ‘Set to Kill’ as of yet”. That said, his best ET to date is an impressive 9.17 @146 shifting at just @ 6,700 rpm.
“I’ve never had a car that could wheel-stand as much as this”.
We first met RANDY HEINSELMAN in 2017 when the (brand x) engine block in his ’70 Cuda let go only six weeks prior to the start of Hot Rod Drag Week. Through our Dealer For Hemi’s Only we sent a new Keith Black HEMI Street block to Randy and Nickens Brothers Racing Engines in Conroe, Texas. Nickens Brothers Racing Engines and Randy managed to get the car running – including repairing a cracked cylinder head – just two days before the event started.
Ralph Bell's Hemi Roadrunner tips the scales at 3500lb with driver, and is currently running 9.72 @ 140 mph and 9.00 @ 150 mph with a 200 Nitrous Shot, only a whisker away from the 8’s.
